Abstract
Mice can cause significant damage by penetrating into grain storages. They do not only eat large amounts of grains and cause quantitative damage to the crop, but by contaminating the cereals with their waste materials, urine, and hairs; they lower the quality of the grain and cause the transmission of various diseases to humans and animals. They chew storage containers, warehouse equipment and electricity lines and in some cases cause fire in the warehouses. It is very effective to apply integrated pest management, which includes preventive and control methods to fight mice. In prevention methods, more attention is paid to measures to prevent mice from entering grain storages. In control methods, measures are taken that are effective in eliminating mice. These measures include the use of different traps, the use of ultrasonic devices, the use of rat-proofing methods, the use of cats, the conservation and supporting of the natural enemies of mice, and finally the use of different chemicals in the form of fumigants and tablets and preparation of various poisonous baits.
